Russia-Ukraine War (Reason or consequences of the occurrence of war):

Annexation of Crimea (by Russia):

Annexation of Crimea started on 20 February 2014 when the Russian troops started capturing the strategic locations of Ukraine due to the political unrest in the states. The troops started moving into Crimea through the Novorossiysk.

The main annexation of the region of Crimea occurred on 27 February when the Russian special troops advanced in Crimea getting full control of it gradually.

By gaining control of the strategic positions they separated the region with the rest of the Ukraine state and disbanded the Crimean Parliament. They raised the Russian flag to let the neighboring countries and Ukraine know that Crimea is now a territory of Russia.

Slowly they gained control over the media and security and their main airports were also secured by the Russian troops. By the hacking their news, media and other social networks they control everything gradually gaining full control over the region. Finally gaining control over the naval base of the Crimea they removed all the Ukrainian ships and bases from the naval point of the Crimea.

Ukraine ordered to vacate all its troops from Crimea on 24 March and finally left Crimea on 30 March 2014. Finally in April, Ukraine had stated that Crimea was annexed by Russia for temporary period and after the departure of Ukraine forces from the states the Russia made its security of the annexed state heavier than before and declared that they would make special Russian forces in the region of Crimea.

From one perspective it can be seen that the Russia has gained illegal control of the Crimea and it can be considered a wrongful act but from another perspective it can be seen that the annexation of Crimea may not be a wrongful act.

War in Donbas:

The war in Donbas started due to the protest of some Russian separatists who did not liked the new Ukrainian government and these protests were more encouraged by the Russia. They stated that Donbas is a part of New Russia. They exploited the protest by giving the legitimacy to the protesters and launching military and political campaigns against the Russia. They encouraged the protest by putting in their mind that Donbas should never be a part of Ukraine instead it should be a part of New Russia.

This is a perspective from one side bit if we see from the perspective of NATO it can somewhat different story.

But first the question arises of what is NATO?

NATO:

NATO is the abbreviation of the word North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

NATO consists of 30 countries from the Europe and North Atlantic. It’s a Defense Alliance. The purpose of NATO is to defend its member countries and their citizens and its fulfills its this purpose by combining together the governments and military combatants of its 30 member countries with the motto that if one member is attacked all the other members are attacked so its defense alliance in which all the member countries stand together to defend their member country.

Now the question here arises that why is NATO sided with Ukraine, well do you think that the answer can be that Ukraine may be a member of NATO but here you are thinking wrong, Ukraine is not a member country of NATO but it’s a partner country of NATO.

Now the Question arises what’s the benefit of being a partner country of NATO, the answer is being a partner country of NATO you can closely cooperate with the alliance but NATO doesn’t guarantee its security as it guarantees security for its member countries.

The next thing that is to be considered is that how NATO is helping Ukraine well we see that NATO and its allies are constantly sending military supplies to Ukraine so that they will be able to defend themselves against the Russian forces.
